Charges

Posted by wightdogs on October 18, 2009 at 5:40 AM

All year parking Charges at the Esplanade and the Canoe lake, Ryde.

As from the Ist. of November this year we are going to have to pay to park in these areas all year round, this is going to have an adverse effecton the many people who walk their dogs on the beach here.

£1 - £1.90 just to walk your dog in the town where you live!

Disgraceful, according to the County Press (council pressure) the council reckon that although this wont be universally popular (hes having a laugh) it will be welcomed by businesses as it will ensure a regular turnover of parking spaces.
So these businesses think that people are going to pay to park on the Esplanade in order to hike it to their shops do they?

And what businesses is it going to benefit at the canoe lake? The swimming pool? not if people wont pay to park, they will lose custom .
The Cafes? ( whose customers consist of many dog walkers in the winter months) I'm not going to pay £1.90 to walk my dog every day are you?

Maybe that is the plan to stop dogs using the beach all year round, rather than just persecuting us in the summer.

The Council are out of touch with reality. What on earth were they thinking (or not) to put the restriction in place all year round?
