The person in the image above, taken this morning, looks to all the world to be breaking the dog beach ban at Appley Ryde, he isn't.

He is legitimately walking his dog on a permitted area of the beach as he is over 100 metres from the sea wall.

A spokesman for the council admitted 12 months ago that these signs were wrong as they state categorically that dogs are not permitted on this beach.

Since then the council have continued erecting these signs (click here for examples) and both their dog wardens and their spokesperson have insisted they are correct, contradicting the councils statement of a year ago stating otherwise.

Yet these signs still remain in place even though the council have finally been forced into doing a U turn on their claims as the signs have, for the second year running, been proved to be wrong.

They are currently considering what to do about it.

Why do we have to put up with this?

Because we are unable to vote out the people who are responsible for these continual blunders as they are in a job for life, and we are paying them for this.

But these signs will soon be right if the council get their way.

And perhaps that was the plan all along
